The second edition of CUES, a one-day summit that showed Cairo University’s shift toward the Entrepreneurial University model, bringing policymakers, founders, scaleups, researchers, alumni and students together on the main campus.

The objective

Turn Cairo University’s Entrepreneurial University strategy into a visible, single-day moment: convene the ecosystem on campus, show the university’s innovation and AI agenda in action, and connect students and researchers with founders, scaleups and policymakers.

My role

Working with the Cairo University team, I shaped the agenda and allocated speakers to sessions, sourced the startups for the exhibition, designed all session visuals, and provided the ticket scanning app for attendee entry.

Agenda & speakers
Built the summit agenda with the Cairo University team and matched each speaker to the right session and time slot.

Startup exhibition
Sourced the startups and scaleups for the exhibition area, showcasing companies ready to partner with the university.

Session designs
Designed the speaker and session visuals for every keynote, panel and talk, used online and on the main stage.

Ticket scanning
Provided the ticket scanner app that managed attendee entry to the university campus on the day.

The programme

11 sessions · 30 speakers

Two opening keynotes by the Cairo University President and the Minister of Higher Education, followed by the university’s own strategy session, then panels and talks on scaleups, alumni, AI and employability, sustainability, policy and research commercialization. Each session had its own design.

On the day

Founders such as Amr Awadallah (Vectara, Cloudera) and Abdullah Assal (Sahl) shared alumni journeys, while the Built by Egyptians panel put Egyptian scaleups including Nawah Scientific and Simplex CNC in front of students and researchers.
